The first car chase in history has begun in India, with some incredible vehicles to be unveiled on Wednesday.
The new chase cars will be made by Audi and Hyundai and will be driven by the duo of former Formula One world champion Sebastian Vettel and ex-Formula One world champions Kimi Raikkonen.
The Audi R8 LMS and the Audi R9 LMS have already been driven by Vettel, with the Audi RS4 LMS being piloted by Raikkon, who has won five races with the German manufacturer this year.
But there will be a new model to be announced in the coming days.
The Mercedes AMG GT3 R is a four-door, all-wheel drive sports car with an aluminium frame, which has the potential to go from zero to 60mph in just 2.4 seconds, according to its website.
The Audi R6 GT3 is a six-door sports car, with a three-cylinder engine, that has been engineered to deliver more than 300bhp.
Both cars will have a range of about 4,400km and will use the latest technologies to keep the drivers entertained and on the move.
A number of the cars will feature technology such as a supercomputer, radar, infotainment systems and even virtual reality, to help keep the cars safe and in the drivers’ minds.
These technologies have been developed in partnership with the Department of Computer Science and Technology (CST), and will help the cars stay on track and alert in the real world.
The cars are being developed at the same time as a series of other technology projects.
The first such project is a new version of the Audi S6 E-tron which will be based on the Mercedes-Benz GLA and be driven from the Indian city of Kochi by two young drivers.
The cars will cost between £1.6 million and £2.6million.
A similar project is being worked on in the US, with BMW developing the all-electric E63 AMG, while Mercedes-AMG has launched the new E63 Turbo, which is the same car as the first prototype of the new Audi R18 LMS.
