The carmaker is building new cars at two plants in Alabama and South Carolina, and the company will make cars at one more plant this year in Louisville, Kentucky.
Mercedes-BBS will build cars at a total of 1,096 vehicles in Alabama, the company said in a news release.
The company plans to build the cars at the two plants over the next two years.
Mercedes has a global manufacturing base in Germany and is building a plant in Alabama that will create up to 1,600 jobs.
The company also announced it will build an air bag inflatable housing unit in Louisville.
The air bag housing units are designed to improve vehicle occupant protection and improve occupant comfort.
